I've been doing a lot of reading and gaming since the last time I wrote a Currently article. The last two books I read were incredibly different but I thoroughly enjoyed both of them.

The first book has been my favorite book based of of another franchise. I read Warcraft: The War of the Ancients: The Well of Eternity by Richard Knaak. Like many of the other franchises I've read books from recently, I don't know much about Warcraft. It is something that my husband loves though so I wanted to learn more about it. It also helps that my favorite genre is high fantasy. When I started reading it, I honestly didn't expect much. I didn't think I'd dislike it but I didn't realize that I was going to like it as much as I did. It was wonderful. The plot was interesting, I knew nothing about the world but I felt incredibly immersed, the action was satisfying, and the characters felt well-written. Knaak is a wonderful writer. After reading the book, I started to play World of Warcraft with my husband because I was so interested in the lore. It's been a lot of fun and I even though the book is older, I'd love to read another one of Knaak's books.

The other book I read was Call Down the Hawk by Maggie Stiefvater. This book was incredibly interesting and poetic. There were so many interesting things that the author did with punctuation and internal dialogue that made the book unlike other books I've read before. I loved the characters, even ones that would drive me crazy in real life. My very favorite part of the book were relationship dynamics. It was all wonderfully written and I would highly suggest this book if you're looking for a new read. I felt emotionally invested in the lives of the characters. It's rare for me to cry during a book but this one hit me hard in a few spots.

My very favorite game series released a new game on Nintendo Switch last month. I love the Fire Emblem series and have been incredibly excited for Fire Emblem Engage. The game has been fun. Unfortunately, it has also been my least favorite Fire Emblem game in a long time. There were some frustrating parts at the beginning for someone like me who likes to grind. I find grinding therapeutic. There also just wasn't a special charm that games like Awakening, Fates, and Three Houses had. But don't let that dissuade you if you've wanted to try Fire Emblem. It's still a great game, it's just not my personal favorite of the franchise. This was emphasized more because I was replaying Three Houses up until release date and found myself preferring the older game. In this new game, I do like how the main character has a bit more of a personality and more character flaws. It was refreshing going from a near silent protagonist to one who has a voice.

Thank you for reading this article. Keep dreaming and daydreaming of all the wonderful worlds in your head.
