It has been far too long. I mentioned this in my regular blog, but the last month has been a bit crazy with traveling, holidays, and medical troubles. Everything should be heading back to normal though and my posts will be much more frequent. Currently, I am reading what has been an amazing book so far and I'm excited to share it with you.
Now, I've read one Stephen King book in the past which was The Gunslinger. It was quite a while ago that I read it but it wasn't my favorite book. I can see why people like it, but to me it fell a little too wild when I was probably looking for a more genre following fantasy book at the time. I absolutely love it when the genre is being bent but it just didn't work for me then. Because of that, I was a little hesitant to pick up Stephen King's The Eyes of the Dragon. I'm super happy I did though, because I really love the book so far. I haven't gotten very far but I've looked forward to reading it every time and have read longer than I had planned each time.
A part of what makes it so great is the narrator. It's done in a very story teller-like way which adds this interesting tone of someone telling a story that to the narrator has already ended, one in which the audience can be surprised but not the narrator. It makes for an interesting tone and the opportunity for the audience to understand multiple perspectives that may not have been explored in a different format. This has been a great book so far and I would recommend it if you enjoy dark fantasy.
I've played a whole lot of Pokémon Scarlet, an ungodly amount for the time I realistically have. At first, the game started pretty slow, much like any other Pokémon game. It made me a bit nervous because I had looked so forward to having a different kind of game. But then, once they let you free and you suddenly can decide what you want to do in the open world, it became a whole lot of fun.
I ended up making two different Pokémon teams, one for one half of the map and another for the other, because my Pokémon were getting so over leveled due to me just wanting to explore. I'm most likely going to beat the game tonight. Again, I've done so much exploring that I haven't beaten it when I definitely should have about a week ago. This is definitely going to be a game that I come back to and try to complete the pokedex. I have a lot of friends that are loving it too which makes it a lot of fun.
What are some dark fantasies you've read or played? Do you like reading holiday books and why?
Keep dreaming and day dreaming of all the wonderful worlds in your head.
