Redwall

This week I started reading two new books. I've been doing a lot of reminiscing on my childhood and thinking about the shows I used to enjoy and one kept coming to mind over and over again. I loved PBS's Redwall, really, really loved it. It was of course created based on Brian Jacques' popular Redwall book series which is a book series I've never been able to read. I started reading it this week while watching the PBS show on Youtube. It's been super fun. The book is great and is filled with so much adventure and interesting characters. Jacques does a tremendous job of showing various characters and storylines and making the reader care about all of them.

I really hope our baby and future children enjoy cool books like the Redwall series. Even as an adult I find myself thoroughly interested in what's going on and excited to read more. It gets your imagination going and makes you want to consume more and mroe.

Lent

I'm also currently reading Lent by Jo Walton. That's incredibly different from Redwall but I'm enjoying it a lot as well. It's fun because it's a fantasy book but it's based on actual people from history. I absolutely love how the main character is written. Walton does a great job making him a character who struggles with pride but is also trying to overcome the sins he participates in. I wouldn't call the character incredibly likable but I'd say they're incredibly real.

I did slightly ruin the possible ending of the book because I went on Wikipedia for a couple of hours reading about the characters in the book. It was just so interesting I wanted to learn more about the real people involved and assess how closely the book related to them. If I did discover the ending, I'm still looking forward to see how Walton writes it and the fun fantasy elements that will be included.

Final Fantasy X

Surprise surprise, I'm still playing Final Fantasy X. I have all the playable characters now in my party so I used it as another opportunity to train as long and hard as I could. I haven't played many Final Fantasy games but it's incredibly different from both of the other ones I've played. I'm very excited to see where it will go. I also learned that you can choose who your character falls in love with. My favorite game ever is Fire Emblem Awakening so I was a definite fan of that idea. I may have already messed it up because I already answered a certain way to a few dialogues but hey, it will be fun to see who I end up with.

Thank you for reading my blog post. What are some series you loved as a kid? What are some interesting flaws you've seen given to characters? Are you a fan of choosing a love interest in a game? Why or why not?

Keep dreaming and daydreaming of those beautiful worlds in your head.
