I recently finished a wonderful novel this last week and have started reading another that I've had a hard time putting down. They are incredibly different in tone and genre but they both have wonderful feminist themes that have made me feel empowered reading them.

The first book was India Holton's The League of Gentlewomen Witches. This is the second of Holton's books. I read this one first, not knowing that it was a second, but I had no problem understanding what was going on. I think there might have been characters that I would have appreciated more if I had read the first book but that was it. I'm looking forward to reading the first book and learning about other characters.

In many ways it reminded me a little of Pratchett's Discworld series. It was funny and had just enough silly that it was fun but didn't feel overdone for the most part. The writing was witty and there were so many times I'd have to laugh out loud. It was really easy to get to the end of a chapter and push through another and often another one because I needed to know what would happen next. There were a few part that felt a bit repetitive but I think by the end I felt those repetitive parts helped with the overall character development at the end.

The book I'm currently reading is The Lost Queen by Signe Pike. This book is incredible. I haven't read many Historical Fictions but this one has made me want to read more. It takes place in Scotland in the sixth century and has references to King Arthur and his knights. Again, I'm only about forty percent done, but I'm already enthralled with the story and excited to read more.

I'm continuing to play Shin Megami Tensei V but have recently started playing Monster Hunter Rise. I tried a Monster Hunter game in the past and honestly struggled getting into it. It didn't help that I had recently given birth and kept failing the timed quests because I would need to leave and take care of the baby when he woke up. Now, however, that baby is a toddler and sleeping through the night. It also helped that my brother is really into Monster Hunter and went on a few hunts with me. He helped me learn the controls much faster and explained things in a way that made me more excited to keep going. I did play Monster Hunter Stories II and really enjoyed it so I'm familiar with the monsters and it's fun being able to see them in a less friendly way.

Thank you for reading this article. What are some good Historical Fictions that I should read? What kind of humor do you like reading in books?

Keep dreaming and daydreaming of all the wonderful worlds in your head.
