I've been reading the book Burn by Patrick Ness this week. I've read Ness' A Monster Calls a few years ago and was pleasantly surprised by how different the two books are. It's great to see the author is able to have such two different books but both of them be incredible.

The story itself was quite surprising. It takes place in the world we know, during the Red Scare, but dragons are a part of the world's history. In a way it reminded me of Naomi Novik's His Majesty's Dragon in that dragons and humans coexist in the real world with real history. It's an interesting perspective that makes our world feel more exciting and puts actual events in a different perspective.

I'm only about halfway through with the book but I'm hooked. It will be interesting to see how things unfold and I really, really want to know what will happen to the protagonist, Sarah. I finished reading on such a cliffhanger that I've regretted putting the book down when I dead ever since.

I started playing the game Scribblenauts Unlimited. It's a game I remembered when I was younger really wanting to play. It's fun figuring out different ways to solve the same puzzles. I mostly like to figure out all the different fantastical creatures I can create and in all of their variations. I've probably spent more time connecting as many adjectives possible to the noun dragon than actually doing the puzzles. It's been a lot of fun.

Mostly, I'm incredibly excited about the Nintendo Direct yesterday. The very first game announced as Fire Emblem Engage. Fire Emblem is my favorite game series of all time and I've been incredibly eager for a new main series game. It's coming out in January which is incredible. I'm going to replay Fire Emblem Three Houses in December to get even more psyched about it.
