This week was fun for reading. I almost always read fantasy books but this week I found myself reading a science fiction novel and a mystery. To celebrate Star Wars day, on May the fourth be with you, I've been reading and have almost completed the book Star Wars: The High Republic: Into the Dark by Claudia Gray. It's been pretty good. I've never read a Star Wars book before so I wasn't sure what to expect. I've enjoyed that the majority of the characters are characters I've never heard about before in the universe. That may not be saying much because I honestly am not overly familiar with the franchise but I do believe they're mostly original to the book.

I also started and finished reading Agatha Christie's Mystery on the Blue Train. I love Fantasy with all my heart but I also adore reading mysteries, especially ones by Christie. There's a reason her books have sold so much. This was my very first Agatha Christie novel where I've been able to guess the murderer from the beginning. It was still an incredible book and I was doubting myself the entire time which is always fun.

I think it would be wonderful to read a fantasy book that reads like a mystery. The closest reads I can think of are K.A. Doore's The Perfect Assassin and Erin A. Craig's House of Salt and Sorrows. Both of those books I would highly recommend if you like both the fantasy and mystery genres. I'd like to find more books like those so if you have any suggestions let me know.

I've made quite a bit of progress on Final Fantasy X. I'm more than halfway done with the game I believe and am really enjoying the direction it's heading. I don't want to give away any spoilers but for those who have played, I guessed what was going to happen at the end of the journey but have enjoyed seeing the emotion and reactions of characters who are coming to grips with the trial they soon must face. It's powerful and it feels well done.

What genre do you like reading that isn't your favorite genre? For those Star Wars fans out there, which book would you recommend to a new Star Wars reader? Which Final Fantasy game has the best ending?

Thank you for reading my blog. Keep dreaming and daydreaming about all those beautiful worlds in your head.
