I finished reading The Keeper of Lost Causes by Jussi Adler-Olsen last night. I breezed through the last forty percent of the book because I was so invested in what was happening. I have to admit, I didn't super enjoy the book at the beginning because the main character got on my nerves but by the end I couldn't put it down.

I'm not sure why, but for a long time I've been incredibly interested in the country, Finland. This book takes place in Denmark but there were a lot of references to Finnish culture which was really fun. I'll have to give the Nordic Noire genre another go and possibly look for a book that takes place in Finland. If anyone has recommendations I'd love to hear them.

Tonight, I'm going to start reading the book The Red Palace by June Hur. After that, I'll hopefully get the chance to go back to reading fantasy for a while. I've genuinely enjoyed reading other genres but my heart will always crave a good fantasy novel. I have three lined up to read and one of them seems to have a lot of similarities to the books I'm writing. That will be good to study what makes the series so successful.

I've been playing a whole ton of Triangle Strategy for the last few days. Tactical role-playing games are probably my overall favorite genre. Fire Emblem has been my favorite series of games for a long time. It has an awesome high fantasy book feel with the story and characterization that make me feel invested in the game and mostly the characters. Triangle Strategy has that same feeling. I miss support conversations. I thought there might be some because there are in both Fire Emblem and Octopath Traveler. Of course, Triangle Strategy is its own game but there are so many characters it would be nice to have a way to highlight all of them. I haven't gotten very far in the game because of my love of grinding so it's possible there's a way to interact with everyone later.

I would highly recommend this game, especially if you do like Fire Emblem or big fantasy-style games. I've had a great time and am excited to pick it up again tonight. I'm sorry Final Fantasy X. I promise I'll be back to you soon!

Do you like a genre that no would suspect you of liking? Which one is it? When is your favorite time to read? Are your favorite book and videogame genres similar?

Thank you for reading my blog. Keep dreaming and daydreaming of those beautiful worlds in your head.
